Why are the prices of medical aesthetics (procedures and surgeries) in Korea so low? Is the effectiveness low?

The primary reason for the low cost of plastic surgery in Korea is the prevalence of large hospitals due to fierce competition within the industry, coupled with relatively low medical labor costs. However, lower prices do not necessarily mean lower quality. Many hospitals in the Gangnam area have adopted state-of-the-art equipment and employ experienced doctors, providing a level of service that is equivalent to, or even more professional than, that found in Taiwan.
