I've been taking over-the-counter heartburn medicine, but it just isn't getting any better. I really love coffee and drinks. Two or three cups a day is the norm, and I tend to drink even more when I'm busy. Also, a few weeks ago, I ate spicy pork cutlets quite often. Since then, it feels like my stomach just isn't returning to normal. For a few days, nothing was particularly different from usual, but the heartburn has gotten much worse since then. I wonder why this is happening even though I'm taking the medicine. I also wonder if it's because I'm getting older, haha. I don't think I need to go to the hospital for something like this, so I just bought medicine from the pharmacy and am taking it. It feels a bit better while I'm taking it, but it keeps repeating the cycle of discomfort returning once I run out. I've tried cutting down on coffee and being careful with spicy and greasy foods, but I don't know why it just isn't getting better. I'm also curious what kind of medicine people take from the pharmacy when they have heartburn. For those of you whose heartburn doesn't get better with over-the-counter medicine from the pharmacy, do you just go to a regular hospital or a Korean medicine clinic? I'm asking because I'm not sure what would be better. It makes me sad to feel myself getting older day by day, haha.
