My father turned 70 this year and recently underwent disc surgery. Since it was our family who discussed and recommended the surgery, he went through with it somewhat reluctantly. We heard the surgery went well, but the problem lies in what happened afterward. His energy has dropped significantly; he doesn't eat the same way as before and just wants to stay lying down. The hospital advised him to start exercising little by little and increase his activity, but he hasn't done so yet, perhaps because of the pain. It's hard to force him to do so. They say it will get better with time, but perhaps because of his age, his recovery feels a bit slow. I used to see older people replenishing their energy with tonics or herbal medicines after surgery, but he doesn't really take anything other than red ginseng juice. If there are any famous Korean medicine clinics in Seoul that are good at prescribing medicines and specializing in restoring energy for seniors after surgery, please recommend them. However, I would prefer to hear from people who have actually taken their parents there, rather than places that sound too much like advertisements. If I were taking it myself, cost would be important, but I would prefer a place that is decent rather than just expensive. If anyone has experience with this, please let me know.
